Are you Bitter or are you going to dance?

When I was a teen I fell head over heals for this girl.  She was beautiful!  She was tall, had the figure of Barbie, long hair, was a total knock out.  She was way out of my league but God had other plans; plans that we would fall in love and later we would marry.

God had plans that nether one of us knew about!  We surely did not see our lives to have gone down the path that we did.  Most of it good but not without struggles.  Most of it good but not without some regret.

I am sure there were days of loneliness, days where loved ones passed, days where you felt passed by.

These things can make us bitter.  Life is hard and we get weary!

Michal – was David’s wife.   She loved him!  He was her high school quarterback that all the girls loved.  He was the hero, the knight in shining armor!  He could sing and play music which was beautiful.

She was the Kings daughter!  Way out of his league for he was a shepherd.  A famous one though.  He killed Goliath!

Michal loved David and her Dad (the King) knew it.  He was threatened by the young man and wanted to kill him.  Know is that a nice father-in-law or what!

Michal was able to marry David as a pawn in her fathers plan to kill him but it did not succeed.  In fact She saved David and put her own life on the line.  (1 sam 19: 11-17)

1 Samuel 19:11-17

New International Version (NIV)

11 Saul sent men to David’s house to watch it and to kill him in the morning. But Michal, David’s wife, warned him, “If you don’t run for your life tonight, tomorrow you’ll be killed.” 12 So Michal let David down through a window, and he fled and escaped. 13 Then Michal took an idol and laid it on the bed, covering it with a garment and putting some goats’ hair at the head.

14 When Saul sent the men to capture David, Michal said, “He is ill.”

15 Then Saul sent the men back to see David and told them, “Bring him up to me in his bed so that I may kill him.” 16 But when the men entered, there was the idol in the bed, and at the head was some goats’ hair.

17 Saul said to Michal, “Why did you deceive me like this and send my enemy away so that he escaped?”

She ended up having to live by herself for some time because David was on the run for his life.

Michal unknowingly became part of a polygamist.

1 Samuel 25:42-44

New International Version (NIV)

42 Abigail quickly got on a donkey and, attended by her five female servants, went with David’s messengers and became his wife. 43 David had also married Ahinoam of Jezreel, and they both were his wives. 44 But Saul had given his daughter Michal, David’s wife, to Paltiel[a] son of Laish, who was from Gallim.

Then David, while on the run,  got involved in attacking the Philistines.  The country was at war now and Michal was home alone still.

Michal’s Father (the King) is killed in this war with the Philistines.  So not only is she alone she now has to experience the grief of losing a parent by herself.

David is able to come home but doesn’t right away.  He is first appointed King of Judah.  Note at this time he has the two wives he married on the run with him.  We all know how rumors spread so you can only imagine what Michal is hearing.

The adultery does not stop there with David though and he marries another and has sons with them and his concubines.  This is all before we are told he sees Michal after his return to Judah.

2 Samuel 3:1-5

New International Version (NIV)

3 The war between the house of Saul and the house of David lasted a long time. David grew stronger and stronger, while the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.

Sons were born to David in Hebron:

His firstborn was Amnon the son of Ahinoam of Jezreel;

his second, Kileab the son of Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel;

the third, Absalom the son of Maakah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;

the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;

the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;

and the sixth, Ithream the son of David’s wife Eglah.

These were born to David in Hebron.

David will then become King over all Israel and this is all by the time he is 30 years old.  He then goes to Jerusalem and make his home there.  At some point in time while he was in Hebron he went and took Michal and brought her to live with them because we see her come back into the picture while in Jerusalem.

Now Michal is still without children and yet her husband is having affairs with his concubines and other wives and they are bearing children left and right so we can only imagine what she thinks of them and herself.

Put yourself in Her shoes for a minute!  Can you blame someone for being bitter at this point?

So we then come to the boiling point and that is the final straw for Michal.  This point takes place when she sees her low life cheating husband who left her to live by herself, grieve by herself, risk her life for him come dancing into the city so happy he cannot stand himself acting like a fool and not a king which makes her want to heave!

2 Samuel 6

14 Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, 15 while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.

16 As the ark of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart……………

20 When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!”

23 And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.

Michal had every reason to be bitter

She experienced;

            Loneliness

            Betrayal

            Grievance

            Denial

We have all experienced similar things though haven’t we!  We have every reason to be bitter I am sure.

But we are going to miss out on all that god has planned for our lives if we claim the right to be bitter.

You have free will to claim it if you want!

What did David do?  We know the things David did form her perspective, but we also know the other half of the story.  David was being chased the whole time in an attempt to be killed.  Who was trying to kill him?  It was her father!!   Yet even when given opportunities to kill the King he chose not to.  Remember he was anointed King by the Prophet Samuel before all this even happened.  Yet He was not king and would not become king for along time.

Yes he made some really bad choses and would surely regret some of them but He was not bitter.  He made a different chose.

Am I going to let my bitterness over take my life or my (new life in Christ) over take my bitterness?

David shoes the later.  Michal chose the earlier.

What are you going to choose??????

Is your path Reckless?

Is your path reckless?  This is an important question that as teenagers our parents made sure they repeated it a hundred times not to be reckless.  Don’t drive reckless, don’t play reckless, and don’t be reckless in your relationships.  They were a broken record in my house and yet I did not hear a word they said.

The story of Balaam the sorcerer teaches us some import life lessons regarding this question

scripture: Numbers 22-25;

The Story takes place as the Israelites are making their second attempt into the Promise Land.  Moses has lead them out of the desert after 40 years and they are preparing to enter the promise land from the east of the Jordan.  Now King Balak of the Moab’s sees the Israelites as a threat, He knows what they did to the Amorites and fears they will do the same to him.  Balak decides He is not able to defeat them on his own so he calls upon a sorcerer that he knows can put a curse on these people.  Balaam was the sorcerer who lived in Moab that the King knew but Balaam was in Pethor at the time which was nearly 400 miles away near the Euphrates.  The king sent messengers to Balaam (princes from Moab) with a fee to pay Balaam to come and put a curse on the Israelites.

The Moab’s were immoral people in the site of God.  They worshipped Baal – (fertility god – which meant male and female prostitutes) the also worshiped other deity and ate the food sacrificed to them.

You can look at the culture today and see it is not any different then it was in Moab.

The only thing different is we are worshipping ourselves versus worshipping Baal or any other idol.  We are consumed with doing whatever makes us feel good, or whatever makes us look better, or whatever gives us the most authority over others.

So we can look at this story and gain some important insight into our own lives.

Balaam’s career chose was a sorcerer (todays -palm reader, psychic, someone who practices magic).  He called up spirits to see what happens in the future.  He talked with the dead, He asked that people be cursed like witch doctors do today in other countries. Nothing has changed since then, we still have these people around today.  In Delaware they are at every corner.  In Salisbury they are in strip malls on route 50.

Balaam was not just a mediocre sorcerer, He was well known.  He was so good at what he did the King of Moab knew him and sent princes 400 + miles to Pethor to pay him to come back and curse the Israelites.

Balaam worshipped many gods but surprising enough we find that He also knew the Lord God even though he was not an Israelite.  (Num 22: “Spend the night here,” Balaam said to them, “and I will report back to you with the answer the Lord gives me.” So the Moabite officials stayed with him.)

As you can imagine Balaam was not living a life that God would be impressed with; He was so immoral his name means Destroyer Of People.  Yet God was going to use Balaam.   Num 22: 20 That night God came to Balaam and said, “Since these men have come to summon you, go with them, but do only what I tell you.”

Know we do not know when or how Balaam came to know the Lord but it surely did not mean he lived life any different.  I mean hear he is talking directly with the Lord God (which may have been the first time ever or not) and then the next morning he takes off with the Moab officials and never consults God on what he is supposed to do.  I mean God did say “do only what I tell you”.  This would normally mean go when I tell you to go.  Having the right attitude is so important before we do what God has called us to do.  In fact in many cases He will not even open the door if our attitude is not right.  And sure enough the Lord became angry with Balaam.

Num 22: 21 Balaam got up in the morning, saddled his donkey and went with the Moabite officials. 22 But God was very angry when he went, and the angel of the Lord stood in the road to oppose him.”

Now Balaam didn’t know the Lord was opposing him until the donkey he was riding started acting up.  And then he didn’t see the situation for what it was until the donkey began speaking to him. In fact all he was concerned about was his image.  The whole situation made him look like a fool.  The donkey was misbehaving so bad and then finally just laying down put Balaam over the edge.  Balaam wanted to kill the donkey, he was so mad.

Num 22: 27 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, it lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat it with his staff. 28 Then the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?”

29 Balaam answered the donkey, “You have made a fool of me! If only I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now.”

Balaam held a prestigious position with many high officials so image was everything.  To have this donkey act like this and others see it well that was maddening.  He was not going put up with it, then the Lord opened his eyes so that he too could see the angel of the Lord.  This was a game changer,

Num 22: 31 Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown.” 32 The angel of the Lord asked him, “Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me.[a] 33 The donkey saw me and turned away from me these three times. If it had not turned away, I would certainly have killed you by now, but I would have spared it.”

34 Balaam said to the angel of the Lord, “I have sinned. I did not realize you were standing in the road to oppose me. Now if you are displeased, I will go back.”

 Balaam was told “His path was a reckless one” So reckless that the Lord had every intention on killing him but the donkey saved his life.

Yet did Balaam change his ways?  No!  As soon as he got to Moab and with the King he did what the King did.  The King took him to the idols and they sacrificed to them and ate the meat.  Then the King took him up to one of the high places of Baal and looked down over the plain where the Israelites were so he could curse them.

But Balaam did something surprising he asked that they build seven altars and sacrifice seven bulls and seven rams on them and then He would go and see if God would speak to Him.  Well God did!

 Num 23:

 God met with him, and Balaam said, “I have prepared seven altars, and on each altar I have offered a bull and a ram.” (was he looking for approval or what.)

The Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth and said, “Go back to Balak and give him this word.”

So he went back to him and found him standing beside his offering, with all the Moabite officials. Then Balaam spoke his message:

“Balak brought me from Aram,
    the king of Moab from the eastern mountains.
‘Come,’ he said, ‘curse Jacob for me;
    come, denounce Israel.’
How can I curse
    those whom God has not cursed?
How can I denounce
    those whom the Lord has not denounced?
From the rocky peaks I see them,
    from the heights I view them.
I see a people who live apart
    and do not consider themselves one of the nations.
10 Who can count the dust of Jacob
    or number even a fourth of Israel?
Let me die the death of the righteous,
    and may my final end be like theirs!”

You see God did not want Balaam to curse his people and that message He made loud and clear to the King.  The interesting fact about this message that God gave to Balaam had he contemplated what God had said at the end, He would have known he was given an opportunity to repent and be saved.  You see this was told to Balaam in the first person.  This was all about Balaam and the situation at hand and nothing to do with the king or a curse.  Let me die the death of the righteous, and may my final end be like theirs!”

But the King was not going to settle with this and asked Balaam to go to another high place of Baal and look down on the Israelites and curse them from there.  But again Balaam made seven altars and sacrificed bulls and rams on them before calling upon the Lord.  He again went through the same rituals he normally did in speaking with the dead and received another message from God.

Num 23:  18 Then he spoke his message:

“Arise, Balak, and listen;
    hear me, son of Zippor.
19 God is not human, that he should lie,
    not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
    Does he promise and not fulfill?
20 I have received a command to bless;
    he has blessed, and I cannot change it.

21 “No misfortune is seen in Jacob,
    no misery observed[
a] in Israel.
The Lord their God is with them;
    the shout of the King is among them.
22 God brought them out of Egypt;
    they have the strength of a wild ox.
23 There is no divination against[
b] Jacob,
    no evil omens against[
c] Israel.
It will now be said of Jacob
    and of Israel, ‘See what God has done!’
24 The people rise like a lioness;
    they rouse themselves like a lion
that does not rest till it devours its prey
    and drinks the blood of its victims.”

25 Then Balak said to Balaam, “Neither curse them at all nor bless them at all!”

26 Balaam answered, “Did I not tell you I must do whatever the Lord says?”

This time Balaam blesses the Israelites.  Not what the King wants to hear that is for sure.  But the king was not giving up and asked that Balaam go up to another high place of Baal and curse the Israelites.  This time after they made the seven altars and performed the sacrifice Balaam realized that God was pleased in blessing the Israelites so instead of calling upon the Lord as he had done before like he did when calling on the dead the Spirit of God came upon him.

So the Holy Spirit came to Balaam and gave him this message;

Num 24:

and he spoke his message:

“The prophecy of Balaam son of Beor,
    the prophecy of one whose eye sees clearly,
the prophecy of one who hears the words of God,
    who sees a vision from the Almighty,[
a]
    who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened:

“How beautiful are your tents, Jacob,
    your dwelling places, Israel!

“Like valleys they spread out,
    like gardens beside a river,
like aloes planted by the Lord,
    like cedars beside the waters.
Water will flow from their buckets;
    their seed will have abundant water.

“Their king will be greater than Agag;
    their kingdom will be exalted.

“God brought them out of Egypt;
    they have the strength of a wild ox.
They devour hostile nations
    and break their bones in pieces;
    with their arrows they pierce them.
Like a lion they crouch and lie down,
    like a lioness—who dares to rouse them?

“May those who bless you be blessed
    and those who curse you be cursed!”

So God gives this wonderful revelation of Israel and how God is seeing them.  How blessed could Balaam be but after speaking this the King is furious and will not pay Him as he said because He did not curse them.   Balaam decides he is going back to his people and his home in Moab, but he first warns the King what is going to happen to His people.

Sometime later the Israelites end up invading the Moab’s and killed Balaam along with other Midian Kings

Num 31:

They fought against Midian, as the Lord commanded Moses, and killed every man. Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba—the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword”

So you see Balaam was on a reckless path.

His career choose was reckless

His peer group was reckless – he did not surround himself with righteous people.

His attitude was reckless - (my land the man experienced God and still went back to his old ways.) (He was concerned about his image, remember the verse –num 22:29,  and to top it all off Balaam knew what was going to happen to the people around him and yet he did nothing to warn them.)

Balaam died because he taught the King (Balak to entice the Israelites to sin by eating sacrificed food to idols and sexual immorality (Rev 2: 14)

Is your Career choose a reckless one before God?

Are your peer's chooses reckless before God

How about your attitude is it reckless before God.

Personal Demons

Two women commited suicide this week.  Both were on TV, one with an addiction (possible overdose) and the other by hanging.  The One was 43 years old the other 29.

This is a sad state of affairs to see anyone this young take their lives.

But the reality is this is becoming common place.

People are trying to take their life everyday.

How can this be so when so many people today will say they believe in God.

Those that have written responses to these two deaths are just so common among our society.  They say they are praying for the families or keeping them in their thoughts, but in reality if asked most of these people know of God but do not really know God. (Their actions speaks a thousand words)

Many people think we should fear God because He is mean and demanding.

While others become mad at God and blame Him for everything.

But the question is why are so many taking their own lives?

Many say their personal demon is the cause of their problems.  What are they referring to? Are they saying people are demon possessed , or is it some physical or mental illness.

This statement of being demon possessed might hold water, but is it possible for a demon to take possession of a person? Mary Magdalene was demon possessed when she came to Jesus for help.

Luke 8:1-3 says, “After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases [including] Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out…”.

But every time you read of someone being possessed by demons or wicked spirits, there is a common link or denominator.  Another situation written about a person possessed.

Matthew 8:28-33, “When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?” Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding.  The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.” He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water. Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men.”
Does Demon Possession Still Happen Today?

Since demon possession happened in the past then it most certainly can be happening today.  There are numerous stories of people being possessed in modern times.  Many times they are dabbling in the occult (horoscopes, palm readers, physic's, etc.), trying to contact spirits, and some even openly worship the Devil.  This is truly asking for trouble.  The first king of Israel, king Saul, was troubled by an evil spirit but it was only after the Spirit of God had departed him (1 Sam 16:14-23).

 Is it Possible for a Demon to Take Possession of a Believer in Christ?

Can a believer in Jesus Christ, who has been born-again and saved be possessed by the devil or by a demon or fallen angel?  The answer is no.  The Bible is clear about who is in control of the spiritual world.  In 1 John 4:4 it says, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”  Christians are called children of God and the Holy Spirit dwells within each and every believer.

This clearly indicates that if you have come to faith in Christ, it is impossible since God dwells within the believer.

But Jesus gives a clear warning about wicked spirits in Matthew 12:43-45 saying,

 “When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”

So we know that for Un-believers demon possession is possible and that for Believers it is Impossible.

So why then do some Christian say that Satan made them do it?

Is this just an easy cop-out for not wanting to take responsibility for their situation?

Cop-out or reality?  The abilities Satan and his angels need to be examined.  From scripture we know that the angels were created beings.  They were most likely created on the First day.  Being created they do not have the same attributes as God.  They are not omnipotent -all powerful, omniscient - all knowing, or omnipresent – present everywhere.

So this means that the present ideology that Good and evil in this world are equal is incorrect.

But we have to be careful not to get a sense of false security regarding Satan’s power either.

For they can watch our actions and know exactly what temps us along with what hurts us and use that to try and lead us to our destruction.

So it looks like Satan can tempt us but cannot make us do it if we are true believers in Christ.

So why are so many taking their own lives?

Many will say their personal demon is the cause of their problems.  What are they referring to? Are they saying people are demon possessed , or is it some physical or mental illness.

They maybe referring to a Physical addiction

Addiction is the state of behavior outside the boundaries of social norms which reduces an individual's ability to function efficiently in general routine aspects of life or develop healthy relationships

 There are three factors believed to contribute to substance-related disorders: genetic factors, psychopathology, and social learning.

Addictions make people act outside the norm for the most part as if being possessed possible.  And then they end up destroying themselves.

If we consider this as our person demon then what can we do about getting over it?  What do we know about demons from scripture?

THEY CANNOT OCCUPY THE SAME PLACE THAT GOD IS IN!

SO many of our addictions or “personal demons” are things we have used to fill a void in our lives.  The void we do not even realize we have until we become believers.

But even as believers we have to be careful for we know that;

Ephesians 6: 12

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

We can surely expect that Satan knows what tempts us and will continue using this against us.  We need to stay strong and put on the FULL ARMOR of God!!  We cannot just think we can be a believer and then never put on the armor.  For pauls tells us that “when the day of evil comes,…” not if it comes… or we will end up like the man Jesus spoke of in;

  Matthew 12:43-45 saying,

 “When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”

Not only do we have to believe that Christ died for our sins, we have to ask for His forgiveness, and we have to be willing to put on the armor of God.

If we do not we are going to open up ourselves up to Satan’s assaults.  We are going to have no way to protect ourselves from Him tempting us with our weaknesses.

Conclusion:

Maybe today you are wondering if you really have a relationship with God?  Have you asked Him to forgive you?  Have you began seeking Him?  Have you shared you desire to know God with someone who is already a believer?

 Maybe you are a believer already but struggling with that old sin.  Are you devoting time to God?  Are you seeking to see where God is working and joining in, or are you just sitting by?  Are you a truly trusting God with your life or are you still hanging on to some part of it?  Are you putting on the full armor of God everyday to protect yourself?

But if today you have asked God to forgive you please do not be the one who believes then goes off and thinks that is all they have to do.  You will end up like the man we just talked about in Matthew 12:43-45.

Life is like Coffee Movie

Life is like Coffee Movie: Do you know people that just seem to be happier in general? Do you say to yourself, "I want to be more like them"? Often, the happiest people in the world don't have the best of everything...they just make the best of everything!

What is the Rest?

Judges 13

New International Version (NIV)

The Birth of Samson

12 So Manoah asked him, “When your words are fulfilled, what is to be the rule that governs the boy’s life and work?”

 English standard version (ESV)

12 And Manoah said, “Now when your words come true, what is to be the child's manner of life, and what is his mission?”

 Manoah (Sampson’s father) wants to know the rest of the story.  He wants to know what was His son’ s purpose in life going to be.  Is this not something that we all seem to desire?   We have only so many days here on earth right?

Lets put it into prospective.

An Avg American lives 28835 days.

5475 days used before entering adulthood after which;

8477 days – sleeping

1635 days – preparing food & eating

3202 days – working

1099 days – commuting

1576 days - taking care of pets

2676 days – watching TV

1955 Misc days used for (community service, friends)

2740 days – time left
If you are 40 years old then half of these days are gone already.  So what are you doing with the remaining days?  Should I even be focused on these days or should I be focusing on today?

The scripture verse says Manoah wanted to know what His son was going to do for God.  He wanted to see what Samson was going to accomplish.  He wanted a peek into the future.  Remember Ebenezer scrooge?  Remember how he was taken into the future; how frightened he was.  Imagine if God would do this for you. When you were 13 years old would you really have wanted to see the things that happened to you knowing you could not change them.

I think the anticipation and fear would be the end of us.  It would drive many of us crazy.  Especially if you could see the day you die.

We can be so goal/task oriented we just want to see the finished version/product/winner, etc..  We go thru life chasing the conclusion and totally forget to live the plot.

God did not tell Manoah how the story was going to turn out for His son.  What he did tell him was that they needed to listen to him and do the first thing he asked them to do.

The Angel of the Lord would not even share his name with Manoah for it was going to be to much for him to handle.

As a child I was told things on a need to know basis.  If I did not need to know then I was not told.  If the information was above my education then that information was either not shared or was told in such a way that I might gain some understanding.  But as I grew older, matured and had learned more things then my parents would begin to share more things with me.  They continue teaching me and showing me more and more.  As I needed to know they would show me.

Our Heavenly Father knows this about us.  He knows that we need to grow up spiritually.  We will never understand Him if we stay as an infant.  Growing up spiritually is no different than growing up mentally.

When we go to school we go to our classroom we find our seat and we give our full attention to the teacher.  The teacher begins to share or teach the material that is designated for the age group they are teaching. They teach the information needed so the students can go on to the next grade.  At the end of each day or lesson the teacher gives out homework assignments and then a test.  Once the student turns in their homework and passes the test they move on to the next more advanced material.  This goes on and on until they have learned all that is required for that curriculum.

Spiritual growth requires the same process.  This is why God asked that we make disciples.  He knows we will never know him if we stay as infants.  We have to put in the time, we have to do the homework, and we have to pass the test to move on.   There is no other way.
Are you going to begin dealing with the issue at hand?  Are you going to take the word that God is speaking to you and do the homework assignment?

Are you willing to take the test or better yet are you confident you are going to pass it?  We need to pass it to move on .
